South African health tech startup, Quro Medical, secures $1.3 million to scale its innovative tech-driven hospital-at-home solution. This startup secured investment from Johannesburg-based Mineworkers Investment Company, and will leverage this funding to enhance its technology and expand its market reach. Read more.

Formerly called Gricd, Nigerian-based Figorr secures $1.5 million to expand its IoT-powered solution, enhancing cold-chain monitoring for the healthcare industry. The startup’s rebrand introduces an improved insurance offering that leverages real-time monitoring data for products, enabling data-driven insurance coverage for any losses. Read more.

Fleri receives an honorable mention from Fast Company’s 2023 World Changing Ideas Awards, recognized for its Cross-Border Health Marketplace. Fleri’s Cross-Border Health Marketplace enables immigrants across the African Diaspora to directly cover healthcare expenses for their dependents in their home countries. Read more.

Ghanaian startup, Yemaachi Biotech, establishes a strategic partnership with the Meru County Government in Kenya, becoming their official research partner for cancer. This partnership enables the collection of cancer samples from Kenya, aligning with the startup’s mission of promoting greater African representation in medical research. Read more.
