Pan-African VC fund, Launch Africa, invests in Ivory Coast’s Meditect to facilitate its expansion. Meditect operates a digital platform spanning Francophone Africa, which enhances pharmacy operations by linking them with dependable suppliers and optimizing processes. Read more.

Roche supports partnership between Mediktor and Care’in in Ivory Coast, aimed at enhancing women’s health. This collaboration leverages Mediktor’s AI medical chatbot technology to enable early detection of breast and uterine cancer among women visiting primary health centers in the region. Read more.

MamaOpe Medicals secures funding from Health Innovation Exchange (HIEx) and Reckitt through the WiNFUND initiative. Based in Uganda, the company specializes in creating low-tech digital tools tailored for resource-limited environments, focusing on screening and early detection of respiratory illnesses. Read more.

Chefaa joins the inaugural cohort of the Google for Startups Growth Academy: Women in AI program. The founders will benefit from six weeks of equity-free support and collaborate closely with Google mentors on a detailed technical curriculum. Read more

Did You Miss It?

Zipline, a drone-delivery company, achieved a significant milestone by completing its 1 millionth delivery to a community health worker in Ghana. The delivery, consisting of two bags of IV fluid, was transported from a Zipline distribution center in Ghana to the nearby health facility. Read more.

Interest in digital health treatment and care is increasing in Kenya. The Digital 2024 Report reveals a nearly 10% rise in the total annual value for digital treatment and care compared to the previous year. Read more.
